Each of them has a different background, personality, and group of skillsets, that when combined, create an unparalleled fun and adventure-filled experience! Through podcasting, SAHN aims to broaden their audience as they introduce several of their friends, ideas, and experiences.

EPISODE 15 - BE A NIMROD, WITH JEFF BARLOW AND SONS
Episode 15 was a fun and easy episode to record. McCade spent the day shed hunting with Jeff Barlow, of Nimrod Outdoors, and his boy. Jeff found a nice single elk shed, while McCade ended up just hiking his guts out, as per usual! After a long day spent outdoors, they met up at the Barlow home in Emery County, and recorded their conversations.
Jeff started Nimrod Outdoors, as a way to get more involved with his kids in the outdoors, and to share the adventures they have together! As a father of 7 kids, 6 boys and 1 girl, and living in the age of social media, he found it was a great way to connect with his growing children.
Nimrod Outdoors has now expanded outside of the Barlow family, and includes 6 other fathers. With the expansion, they are getting more and more kids, who may not have an opportunity otherwise, involved in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
The name Nimrod, is derived from the Bible. Nimrod was known as a powerful man on earth, as well as a mighty hunter. As a religious man, a good father and husband, and a passionate outdoorsman, the name was a great fit, and the page Nimrod Outdoors was born!
In one of their YouTube videos, Jeff’s oldest boy, Josh, shot a bull elk on a limited entry hunt in Utah. The bull ended up dying in a very challenging place to recover. Jeff recounts the “fun” memory of recovering the bull! Definitely go watch the video!
Jacob, the second oldest Barlow bow, is a very talented baseball player! He loves hunting so much that he decided to quit baseball this year and spend more time on the mountain, shed hunting. Everyone knows that Jacob has incredible eyesight, and seems to ALWAYS be able to spot critters!
Recently, little Joe, at 14 years old, was able to harvest his first turkey, and starts off the podcast by recounting his hunt. Also, go watch Joey’s first deer hunt on the Nimrod Outdoors Youtube Channel. His reaction is PRICELESS!!!
Jace is turning 12 this year, and is very excited to hunt!
The lonely daughter in the family, Maddy, makes her dad proud! She has her very own bow, and even asked for a BB Gun for Christmas.
The two youngest boys watch hunting videos and participate in some outdoors adventures.
Momma Nimrod also hunts, and with 20+ elk points, is looking forward to drawing a coveted Limited Entry Elk Tag in Utah soon!
If you’re a father or mother, who is interested in getting your children interested in the outdoors, follow Nimrod Outdoors on social media for ideas! Jeff and his kids have a great relationship, and a lot of fun on all of their adventures. You can find them on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even Snapchat!! EPISODE 14 - STALKASINS WITH TANNER HOWARD AND KIP FOWLER
Episode 14 of the Sahn Outdoors Podcast is PURE GOLD!! We had the privilege of covering a wide array of topics, around the focus of hunting, with Tanner Howard and Kip Fowler.
To start, we get to know Tanner and how he got his start in leatherwork.
Tanner owns Lone Peak Leather Co.; a leather goods company, with a focus on leather hunting products, mainly hunting moccasins called 'Stalkasins!’
Excerpt from www.lonepeakleather.com: “Getting close is what bow hunting is all about. Getting close is also what Stalkasins are all about. With extremely puncture-resistant soles, when you slip into your Stalkasins to put on a stalk this season, you know your feet will be protected so YOU can stay quiet and focused on your target.” “Inspired by the moccasins worn by the original western hunters, Stalkasins not only give you an edge, but connect you with history. Whether you’re hunting with a recurve, long-bow or compound; slip into the past with your own pair of custom Stalkasins.”
Get your own pair of Stalkasins at www.lonepeakleather.com and use the code ‘sahnoutdoors’ at checkout to save yourself 10%! The code is only good until June 19th, 2018, so hurry and get your own pair! You won’t regret it!!
We also learn a little about Kip and how deeply engrained hunting is into his soul. Kip took an interest in Stalkasins, after seeing a post on social media. Being an avid bowhunter, he knew that they would be a huge asset to his bowhunting game. Kip reached out to Tanner and got his own pair. After successfully putting a pair of Stalkasins to the test, he was hooked!
“I believe it’s a product every bowhunter should have in their backpack!” “It’s such a simple, no brainer for me!” - Kip Fowler
“Stalkasins are now something that I’ll never go bowhunting without!” - Kip Fowler
The group also talks about the experiences, both Tanner and Kip, have had hunting whitetails; How they each prepare for their hunts; The physical aspect, including diet; THE GRIND; “Seeing what the mountain gives me/us”; How overwhelming western terrain can be to an eastern hunter; The sense of accomplishment hunting brings; Scent Control; Thermals; Soft and Hard Bumps; and many many more stories and tips!!

On this episode of The Sahn Outdoors Podcast, we talk with Brenden Labrum, Marketing Director for Scout to Hunt, at the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ben Dettamanti, AKA “Shedcrazy”, and his younger brother, Rocky, also weigh-in on the scouting platform, and talk about the benefits that they each see with Scout to Hunt.
As the world changes and technology increases, we’re starting to see the influence of various new technologies on the Hunting Industry. Love it or hate it, technology is a part of hunting now! A lot of guys and girls choose to run their own cameras, as part of their personal scouting efforts. If you’ve ever ran a few cameras for a season, you’ll know that it takes a lot of time and effort to check those cameras. For most people, time is a very precious resource, and they don’t have enough of it to devote to the trail camera game. That’s where Scout to Hunt comes in!
Scout to Hunt is a growing small company with one of the largest private trail camera systems in the world. A team of guys tackle the wild on a regular basis, setting and checking the cameras, and submitting the data to a team of computer wizards. These IT gurus then process the data that has been captured and upload it all into a searchable database, that their subscribing members can then use for research. The data is broken up, based on location, and users can search “sectors” from state to state, and view game that has posed for the trail cameras.
If you are curious about Scout to Hunt and their services, and think that it might be something that you are interested in, visit their website and enjoy a complimentary free 24-hour trial of what they have to offer. Also, be sure to like and subscribe to Scout to Hunt on their social media platforms.
